Appealing for a School
Those families who cannot be offered a place at a school will be told about their right of appeal and their child’s name placed on the school’s waiting list.
At the appeal hearing, the panel members are independent and have had no involvement with the process of allocating places.
The panel can either turn down your appeal or they can agree to make an extra place available for your child. To help them come to a decision, they will check how the admission authority has applied its policy.
They will listen to the reasons why there is no more room in the school and your reasons for wanting your child to attend that particular school
Halton SEND Partnership is here for you - parents and carers of children, and young people who have special educational needs and disabilities.
Young people who have special educational needs and/or disability aged from 16 to 25 may also access the service. They may choose to do this with the support of their parents/carers or independently.
